Important Information
Absent? Sick? Late? Vacation?
  • If you are going to be absent from class for any reason you must call the school office (604 688 9366) or email Julia and Igor  before 10am to have an Excused Absence. Julia: intern@canada-english.com // Igor: igor.oliveira@canada-english.com. If you don’t notify the office of your absence, this will affect your overall attendance.
  • Teachers and marketers cannot excuse students.
  • If your overall attendance is below 80% when you finish your studies at CCEL, you WILL NOT receive your certificate.
  • You may only have one Excused Absence per week. If you are sick for 2 or more days in a week, you must provide the school with a doctor’s note.
  • If you arrive more than 10 minutes late in the morning for Elective 1 or Smrt Core class,  you will be marked as “Late” and teachers may not allow you to join the class. You cannot be late after lunch for the second half of Smrt Core class.
  • If you are absent for the Smrt Core class after lunch, you will be marked as absent for the entire Smrt Core period.
  • If you would like to take a vacation you must come to the 4th floor AT LEAST 1 week in advance and make an official request for time off. Only full weeks (Monday to Friday) will be considered.
